"China just has been incredibly strategic in how it develops... the largest reserves in the world, so they have tons of money right now, where nobody else has money. They're going around buying natural resources. I'm a Journalist and you have to go to where the biggest stories are and China really is the biggest story for the rest of my life. I think Chinese and Israelis have a lot of interesting similarities: both of them have ancient histories, and the Chinese really admire that about the Jews and about Israel, but their states are also very young. I'm really interested in China's relationship with other emerging markets. China's ascendancy in world politics means that's it's going to shift the balance. It's not U.S. hegemony anymore. Countries are starting to create new relationships to China. I'm focusing on the exchange between China and Israel. It's probably the biggest Gaming market in the world: just hundreds of rows of computers and playing endlessly. They just passed Germany to be the 3rd largest economy and they'll probably pass Japan to be the 2nd largest economy in a year. And they'll pass the United States within the decade, surely. They are really training their labor force to be better educated and to innovate. And that's another point of contact between Israel and China, that Israel is known for being innovative and that's really one of its greatest exports: and that is the direction that China wants to move in. No other country can compare. That is part of the appeal: it's just a massive, massive country. I intend to be going there regularly, and covering it regularly, and I hope my children learn Chinese, so it's a long-term commitment." —
