WIKIPEDIA: According to the Bible, Galilee was named by the Israelites and was the tribal region of Naphthali and Dan, at times overlapping the Tribe of Asher's land.

Bnei Bilhah are of an ancient origin. In the Hebrew migratory tradition begun more than two millennia ago, an Israeli remnant migrated into Africa with many Danites from Northeast Africa migrating back to their tribal allocations in Israel, such as Tel Aviv, besides emerging Naphtalite communities throughout Mainland Africa, including Levitical Islanders from Haiti, Jamaica, Madagascar, Papua New Guinea, and Australia, as well as a Mixed Multitude comprising the African Diaspora from the United States of America settling Southwest of the Sea of Galilee.

bahaiasher: you've probably been asked before, so, with emphasis, maybe: ever seriously consider a stand-up career because your humour is so one of a kind, smart, and soulful, saturated with truth, beneath that thorny exterior
also, just wanted to let you know i fairly recently looked for a YouTube video [archived on tumblr and elsewhere] under the heading of something like it's too hot [a poet was inviting folks to a gig that day] and i was immediately riveted all the while laughing my ass off at your nuggets being hurled at my oily face

Public Statement
from Gaia Democratic School’s Board of Directors
June 3, 2015
Gaia Democratic School is a small independent nonprofit school that was founded by and is run by our community of parents, students, and staff. We are a diverse community with a shared belief in the value of academic freedom.
Our field trip to Smitten Kitten, a locally owned business that serves as a community resource, has received sudden media interest. The GDS board of directors would like to address concerns raised in the media about a recent field trip taken by students in our Sexual Health class. This attention has created misinformation about the field trip.
For those who may not know, Smitten Kitten specializes in sexual education that provides literature, classes, products and protection for people of all sexualities and points along the gender spectrum. It is a nationally recognized leader in the promotion of safer sex supplies and human sexuality.
Despite the burst of publicity in our last weeks of school, Gaia Democratic School’s board of directors stands behind the premise of the field trip; we view it as a legitimate learning experience that relates directly to topics covered during our yearlong Sexual Health class. Our inclass discussions paved the way to a store visit and the participants communicated to us that the trip was a positive educational experience. No student was required to attend.
We understand that sexuality is a complex and sensitive issue, which is why it is important to offer students access to accurate information and resources. We are proud to be a school that encourages health and is inclusive of all. Though the attention our school has received was not asked for, we embrace the opportunity to affirm our community’s longstanding commitment to academic freedom, youth empowerment, and studentled learning.
Sincerely,
Gaia Democratic School Board of Directors

Jeanne: I’ve mentioned Elan Amaro Gayo before as being exported by the only woman coffee exporter in Ethiopia, whose pickers are 80% women, and no doubt this accounts for a major part of the superb flavour of this Arabica coffee. According to Joel Lumagbas of the Philippine Coffee Board, whose expertise on all matters pertaining to coffee growing I tapped for a coffee production project in the Ikalahan community of Imugan, Nueva Vizcaya in 2012, women make the best coffee farmers. Why so? Because, he said, they are meticulous in selecting only the fully red, and thus ripest, berries when harvesting by hand. (And in Imugan, as in other traditional Philippine montane farming communities, women have always beenthe farming experts. In the ancient division of montane agricultural labour, men were responsible for clearing and stabilizing the slopes and preparing them for planting by their womenfolk. I anticipate an especially distinctive Imugan Arabica coffee — I wish to call it Kalahan coffee or Kape Kalahan – arising out of this sustainable development project in 5 – 6 years’ time.)
But the full range and diversity of flavours of Elan Amaro Gayo (EAG), or any other Arabica, coffee is not attained until after harvest. EAG develops its incomparable flavour spectrum as it dries — the seeds (the coffee “beans”), normally two, remain inside the fruits (the coffee “cherries” or “berries”) as they are laid in the sun to dry. It is the natural action of the Ethiopian highland sun gradually working its magic on the coffee fruits — the length of time from about 3 to 5 weeks — that leads to EAG’s enhanced fruitiness, lower acidity, and creaminess or increased “body.”
4 News: On the third floor is Raheem, a young man who fled war in Sudan to come to Israel.
4 News: Firm estimates are hard to come by but it’s thought there are 250,000 foreigners living in Israel. In addition to this, there are 135,000 Ethiopian Jews in Israel. The majority of those live in Tel Aviv
The 1990s saw waves of immigration from the Philippines and Ethiopia: the former a traditional migration of people seeking better economic opportunities and work in the healthcare sector, the latter as part of a huge airlift operation to rescue Ethiopian Jews out of Addis Ababa during civil war.
Both groups have stayed in large numbers in Israel but have suffered problems. Ethiopian Jews suffer from widespread racism on a daily basis while Filipinos struggle to gain full citizenship rights from the Jewish state.
David Katz: how do we get a ger head count? can everyone just raise their hands, or how does this work? the curiosity killed the kat[z] it seems though so far so good. let's hope the new government here can somehow become openly pro-ger. i think, extracting shevatim yisra'el ~ emphasis on Greater Israeli tribal designation, respectively ~ should be a prerequisite for an official census, don't you, David? further, in lieu of the absence of proper korbanot, it appears an official census would only be necessary were Global Regional War on the horizon:

Hippy Jones: Just so all are aware- Courtney Schmackers at Next Door Stories refused to do business with my partner and me because we are a same sex couple.
When I took this blatant case of discrimination up with the Bexley Chamber of Commerce (of which Miss Schmackers is a member) they defended Miss Schmackers and her discriminatory ways, saying that her bigotry is just her "business preference".
Had we been refused service because we were black or Jewish, Next Door Stories would be held accountable; but since we're just queers- no one cares. We are treated as second class citizens- in our very own neighborhood, community and city.
I attempted to go through the ACLU, equality Ohio, bravo, every pro-queer, pro-civil rights, pro-community organization you can imagine. Many of those people dismissed me. But Several of those people were lovely and offered to write letters on my behalf and be there to support me emotionally. But we have no legal recourse options at all... So we took our story to the streets. We told our friends and asked that they tell their friends. Several people went to the fb page of Next Door Stories and the Bexley Area Chamber of Commerce, and left them messages and reviews expressing their disdain for condoning hate, bigotry & discrimination. So many poor reviews in fact, that Courtney Schmackers of Next Door Stories felt it necessary to delete her ENTIRE review section altogether.
Bexley area chamber of commerce has blocked me from contacting them as well as from posting questions to their page. But they haven't YET deleted their ratings section... **Incase anyone has thoughts to share with them.

I don't want another couple or individual to walk into a bexley business ( or ANY business!) and be treated as second class citizens like we were. Being denied service based on your sexual orientation is discrimination. But the law does not protect any of us at this time.
Word of mouth is our only defense.
Every dent we put in the wall of inequality is a victory, as we fight to knock it down once and for all.

If it happened to you- what would you do?
What if it was your daughter, son, sister, brother, mother, loved one?? Ignore it? Sweep it under the rug? Or stand up and speak out??
We have a voice. Let's use it to stand up for equality- in this town and in every town.

Thanks for your time!
